about

Sandwich Shop Jams is the first big release on Robo Jack Records, a compilation featuring songs from many different artists and friends of Jebb, the label’s founder! Stay tuned for more compilations and releases from Robo Jack in the future!

What’s the story behind this comp? Jebb says:
“One night, I was rehearsing with The Sane Riot, and our friend, Tim Longden guesting on guitar. We were getting ready for a gig that was coming up at Woodbridge’s 10selden, set for 2021. Tim came in and laid some guitar solos on ‘Can You Recall?’ and ‘Sandwich Shop Jams’, two songs we recorded that were originally planned to be released as a single. After the songs kind of sat around for a bit, I spoke with Owen Radford about doing a compilation album with the ‘Sandwich Shop Jams’ name, which we got from a photo taken of The Sane Riot and Tim at a local sandwich shop.
The first one to join on the compilation was Midnight Strangers—a local CT band that opened for the last Sane Riot gig at 10selden. Owen Radford joined next, with his song, “Harriet Swings It.” I then proceeded to ask a bunch of friends of mine who are musicians if they wanted to be involved!
In the end, we got Terry Draper (Klaatu), Jeremy Peck, The DTs, Chuck Oney, Star Collector, The Crushing Violets, Hunter Bragg, Lisa Mychols, Edward Rogers, and The Shellye Valauskas Experience with Dave Mattacks (XTC), just to name a few. History was made, and I’m so proud to finally release this amazing compilation.”
